Cora Taylor is a veteran of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office who retired in 2016 as Detective Lieutenant with over 25 years of public service and law enforcement experience. During her career with the Prosecutor’s Office, Cora Taylor served most of her career in the Special Victim’s Unit, where she conducted high profile investigations of sex crime and child abuse. She served the last five years of her career as the Lieutenant in the Confidential Investigations Unit (Internal Affairs), where she supervised investigations related to police misconduct, including complaints against law enforcement executives, public corruption, and employment background investigations. In January of 2018, Cora Taylor joined the command staff at the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office under the leadership of Sheriff Anthony Cureton where she served as the Chief Warrant Officer providing oversight for the Civil Process Unit. In January 2022, she was promoted to Undersheriff and currently serves as the Executive Undersheriff. Cora Taylor is a graduate of William Paterson College.
