School Resource Officers

The Bergen County Sheriff's Office provides School Resource Officers in the many county run secondary and specialized schools run by the county.

These specialized police officers provide a safe learning environments in our county's schools, providing valuable resources to school staff members, fostering positive relationships with youth, developing strategies to resolve problems affecting youth and protecting all students, so they can reach their fullest potentials. These officers serve in various roles such as educator (i.e. guest lecturer), informal counselor/mentor, and law enforcement officer. In addition to the School Resource Officers in county schools the Sheriff's Office has a permanent presence at the campuses of Bergen Community College to protect the thousands of students attending classes daily.
