Traffic Unit

The Bergen County Sheriff's Office Traffic Unit engages in aggressive enforcement of traffic laws with special attention to hazardous moving violations and impaired driving. The unit also engages the public through educational efforts, and multi-jurisdictional projects involving many partners. The Sheriff's Traffic Unit promotes increased safety on the public roadways of Bergen County by utilizing selective enforcement operations and strategies to enforce traffic laws and raise the public awareness of the need to drive safely. The Traffic Unit works closely with the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office fatal Accident Unit, the Bergen County Traffic Officers Association, and the Office of Highway Traffic Safety.
