Security Threat Group Unit
The Security Threat Group Unit (S.T.G.U.) was established in June 2005. The S.T.G.U assists in the collection and dissemination of information received from inmates, civilian staff and other sources.
The S.T.G.U. collects this information by means of the Jail Information Model, reviews it for validity, and then forwards it to the appropriate authority for further investigation and/or action. In some cases, this involves the partnering with other agencies (federal, state and local). The S.T.G.U. has been extremely successful in utilizing inmates as sources of information and confidential informants concerning both internal and external threat priorities.
