The Bergen County Community Release Center offers a program for residents with limited mobility to provide free labor for the construction of access ramps by utilizing officer-supervised inmate labor. The labor for ramp measurement, design, and construction is available to any Bergen County resident who provides their own construction materials. To qualify for free or subsidized construction materials, the resident must meet the income requirements of nonprofit agencies that partner with the Sheriff’s Office which ranges from $40,000 to $54,000.
