Heat Advisory from the National Weather Service

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. today for Bergen County.

Near record temperatures are expected in this region again today. High temperatures with the heat indices are predicted to be over 100° today in Bergen.

Public Service Electric & Gas and Rockland Electric expect high demand today but they do not expect to have any manual load shedding or load reductions.

United Water New Jersey is asking for voluntary conservation of water and Ridgewood Water has declared a water emergency banning irrigation in the four towns they serve.

Please notify the Bergen County Office of Emergency Management at 201-634-3100 of any significant utility failures or any cooling centers open (with hours of operation).

The County has opened four cooling centers until 6 p.m. today:
