SHERIFF MCGUIRE AND THE EASTER BUNNY VISIT CHILDREN ACROSS BERGEN COUNTY

HACKENSACK, N.J. – Bergen County Sheriff Leo P. McGuire and The Easter Bunny today “hopped” across Bergen County to deliver smiles to children.  Throughout the day, the Sheriff and The Easter Bunny visited Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, Hackensack University Medical Center, The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood and Nursery Rhyme Preschool in Saddle Brook.

Sheriff McGuire and The Easter Bunny handed out toy bunnies, coloring books and crayons to more than 250 children during the day.

“It is an absolute privilege and an honor for me to be involved in such a special event,” Sheriff McGuire said.  “It’s hard for us to imagine what so many of these children struggle with on a daily basis. As a public official, watching their smiles brought joy to my heart. As a father, it brought a tear to my eye.”

The event was sponsored by the Easter Bunny Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides a personal visit and toy from the Easter Bunny during the week of Easter to children in hospitals and pediatric wards across the United States and United Kingdom.  This is the second time the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with the Easter Bunny Foundation.
